What You’ll Do
You will join a federal-focused civil engineering team in a hybrid capacity based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, contributing to site civil design and federal infrastructure projects. You'll work on planning, grading, utility design, stormwater systems and related deliverables under mentorship from experienced engineers.
- Develop site plans, utility plans, and grading plans to meet federal design standards
- Perform watershed analyses and design stormwater management systems
- Prepare engineering assessments, calculations, and basis-of-design documentation
- Coordinate project assignments with engineers, technicians, and project managers across multi-disciplinary teams
- Ensure designs comply with regulatory codes and client standards for federal and DoD projects
- Participate in occasional site visits and client meetings as required
What We’re Looking For
This role is aimed at early-career engineers who are motivated to learn and grow in federal site design and resiliency projects.
- United States Citizenship is required for this role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail, clear written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively on collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
Ideally you’ll also have:
- At least one relevant internship or practical experience with a government agency, municipality, corporate engineering group, or consulting firm
Skills & Tools
- AutoCAD & Civil3D for site layout, grading, and utility plans
- Hydrology/hydraulics and watershed/stormwater modeling and design
- Preparation of calculations, engineering assessments, and design reports
- Familiarity with federal design standards and regulatory compliance
- Microsoft Office suite for documentation and reporting
Location & Travel
This position is hybrid and supports the client’s Dallas/Fort Worth offices (local work expected in Highland Park / Dallas area). Frequent travel is not expected, but occasional travel to project or client sites may be required.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Employment type: Full-time
- Estimated (source) base pay: $58,355 per year (estimated) — actual compensation may vary by location and candidate experience
