What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level civil engineering role based in Billings, MT. You will work alongside licensed engineers and multidisciplinary teams to plan, design, and deliver municipal and site infrastructure projects across Montana. Expect a mix of office design work, site visits, and support during construction.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand goals, scope, and technical requirements.
- Produce drawings and models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, or similar tools.
- Prepare calculations, technical reports, and documentation to support design decisions.
- Help develop plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
- Support construction administration: review submittals, document progress, and perform field observations.
- Assist senior engineers and project managers with assigned tasks and coordinate across disciplines.
- Apply engineering principles to evaluate alternatives and recommend practical solutions.
- Participate in site visits to learn construction methods and ensure design intent is met.
- Follow quality, safety, and regulatory standards in all project work.
- Manage deadlines and deliverables to support a positive client experience.

- $70,000 - $85,000 base pay (range based on experience, qualifications, and location)

Your Strengths (Qualifications & Skills)
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering technology, or equivalent ABET‑accredited engineering program
- 0–3+ years of civil engineering design and construction project experience
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) designation preferred or willingness to obtain soon after hire
- Hands-on exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, or similar design software
- Strong technical mindset for troubleshooting and resolving engineering problems
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting and team coordination
- Sound problem-solving ability and engineering judgment
- Client‑service focus and aptitude for building long-term relationships
- Interest in professional growth, practice development, and continuous improvement
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record for periodic travel
