What You’ll Do

This entry-level Civil Engineer will support civil site design and permitting under the supervision of senior staff and project managers. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Prepare site layouts, grading and drainage plans, utility plans, erosion & sediment control plans, and stormwater-management designs
  • Perform site grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility calculations per local, state, and federal requirements
  • Conduct technical analyses, engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
  • Prepare and coordinate site development permit applications and assist with agency reviews and approvals
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, landscape architects, surveyors, contractors, and other engineers
  • Review survey information, existing conditions, construction plans, and specifications for accuracy and coordination
  • Provide engineering support during construction: respond to RFIs, review submittals, and participate in field inspections
  • Ensure designs comply with zoning requirements, codes, standards, and industry best practices
  • Assist with research and preparation of project specifications, technical reports, and other documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience (entry-level)
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD; familiarity with Excel for calculations and tabulation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret survey data, site plans, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of project teams; able to participate in occasional field visits

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience or coursework in stormwater management, hydrology/hydraulics, and erosion control design
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and local agency reviews
  • Exposure to Civil 3D or other civil site design applications

  • Estimated base pay: $53,903 per year (estimated)
