Position overview
Confidential client is hiring an Entry Level Civil Design Engineer to join an Urban Mobility & Infrastructure team in Minneapolis, MN. This is an early-career civil design role focused on municipal and urban transportation projects (reconstruction, pedestrian/bicycle improvements, LRT/BRT support). Ideal candidates are eager to learn design workflows, collaborate on multidisciplinary teams, and pursue professional licensure.
What You’ll Do
- Support civil design tasks across multimodal transportation projects (roadway reconstruction, pedestrian/bicycle facilities, LRT/BRT support)
- Produce plan sheets, assist with design calculations, and prepare cost estimates
- Work in CAD/design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley 3D tools) and learn office standards
- Participate on collaborative project teams with planners, landscape architects, and transit engineers
- Conduct occasional site visits and construction observations (travel required)
- Follow quality management procedures and deliver accurate, client-ready documents
- Take on additional duties as assigned and actively develop technical skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- FE exam passed or eligible to take the FE within six months of start
- Internship or related project experience preferred
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley 3D design tools is a plus
- Interest in multimodal and inclusive urban mobility design
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Self-starter mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa support is required
Compensation & Employment Type
- Reported base salary: $80,500 per year (as provided by the source)
