What You’ll Do

As a Civil Design Engineer in Training (Entry), you will work under close supervision to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience on land-development projects. Responsibilities include:

• Perform defined portions of broader assignments under the guidance of licensed engineers or senior designers
• Build proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering/CADD software through mentored, project-based work
• Complete drafting tasks and coordinate with CADD and engineering technicians
• Assist in preparing construction plans, specifications, reports, studies, cost estimates, and permit applications using company and industry standards
• Perform basic computations and analyses and organize project documentation and data
• Observe construction activities in the field to link design work with real-world execution
• Receive close, hands-on mentoring from a licensed civil engineer on assigned work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET/EAC-accredited program
• EIT/EI certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD; exposure to Civil 3D preferred
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while following prescribed methods
• Strong attention to detail and a genuine drive to learn from experienced mentors
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.; please note sponsorship is not available for this position

• Work location: On-site in Chattanooga, TN (Confidential Client)
• Typical schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
