Role Overview

The Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Chemistry Grad / Laboratory Technician — Gas Analysis to join an analytical team that tests and prepares medical and specialty gases. This hands-on, onsite role in Waverly, CO focuses on gas chromatography, FTIR spectroscopy, CO analysis, LIMS data entry, and safe gas-cylinder handling. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering structured training, exposure to advanced instrumentation, and potential conversion to permanent employment.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform analytical testing of gas samples for impurities using gas chromatography and spectroscopic techniques.
  • Connect gas cylinders to analytical systems within ventilated cabinets, initiate runs, monitor tests, and disconnect cylinders safely.
  • Operate and maintain GC/GCP-type gas chromatography systems (using Galaxy/Compass control software where applicable).
  • Use FTIR spectrometers and CO analyzers to identify and quantify components and verify purity.
  • Upload, review, and document analytical results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Perform routine calibration, verification, and basic maintenance on analytical instruments.
  • Prepare gas mixtures and pure gases using partial pressure and gravimetric techniques following standard procedures.
  • Test and certify incoming raw materials; generate certificates of analysis and prepare cylinders for shipment.
  • Maintain accurate quality-control records in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Follow all safety procedures, handle toxic/hazardous chemicals safely, and participate in required safety training.

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, OR at least 2 years of analytical laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on experience in a chemistry or analytical lab environment (chemical handling experience required).
  • Ability to perform chromatography-based analyses and operate GC/GCP-type instruments.
  • Willingness/ability to learn Galaxy/Compass GC control software (or similar instrument control software).
  • Familiarity with FTIR spectroscopy and other spectroscopic techniques preferred.
  • Experience with, or aptitude for, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Understanding of quality control principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
  • Physically able to handle, move, and load gas cylinders safely.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule (DuPont pattern including nights, weekends, and holidays).

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Prior toxic chemical handling experience and awareness of safe storage/disposal practices.
  • Experience in preparing gas mixtures (partial pressure or gravimetric techniques).
  • Background as a lab technician, chemical engineer, or coursework/internship exposure to gas analysis.
  • Familiarity with chromatographic peak interpretation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and with production teams.

Work Environment & Schedule

This position is fully onsite in Waverly, CO, working in a well-organized chemistry laboratory with ventilated cabinets and advanced analytical instruments. The role follows a DuPont rotating schedule to provide 24/7 coverage (structured rotations between day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays). The Confidential Client emphasizes safety, training, and professional development. This is a contract-to-hire assignment.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $28.00 per hour (hourly rate shown).
  • Employment type: Contract to Hire.
  • Benefits (if eligible) may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), voluntary life/AD&D, short/long-term disability, HSA, and PTO according to classification and tenure.

Individual pay within the listed range will depend on qualifications, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
