What You’ll Do
Laboratory Technician — Gas Analysis. Perform hands-on analytical testing and support production of medical and specialty gases to verify purity and meet quality standards.
- Perform analytical testing of gas samples for impurities using gas chromatography and spectroscopic techniques.
- Connect and disconnect gas cylinders to analytical systems in ventilated cabinets; run and monitor analyses.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance/calibration on GC/GCP systems using Galaxy/Compass GC control software.
- Use FTIR spectrometers and CO analyzers to identify and quantify gas components and trace impurities.
- Record, upload, and review analytical results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Prepare and fill medical and specialty gas mixtures using partial pressure and gravimetric techniques per procedures.
- Test and certify incoming raw materials and process cylinders for shipment (painting, labeling, valve prep, certificates).
- Maintain complete quality control records and follow Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all safety procedures for handling hazardous and toxic chemicals; participate in safety training and continuous improvement.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, OR at least 2 years of analytical laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience in a chemistry or analytical lab environment; comfort handling chemicals and gas cylinders.
- Ability to perform chromatography-based analyses and interpret chromatographic peak data.
- Proficiency or willingness to learn Galaxy/Compass GC control software and common LIMS platforms.
- Familiarity with FTIR spectroscopy and CO analyzers preferred.
- Understanding of quality control principles and GMP concepts.
- Ability to work rotating DuPont-style shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays).
- Physically able to handle, move, and load gas cylinders safely.
Preferred
- Toxic chemical handling experience, gas chromatography control systems experience, and gravimetric or partial-pressure gas mixing techniques.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Onsite, clean and highly controlled laboratory environment focused on medical and specialty gas analysis and production.
- Regular use of advanced analytical equipment (GC/GCP systems, FTIR, CO analyzers, LIMS).
- DuPont rotating shift schedule providing 24/7 operational coverage; schedule published in advance.
- Role includes routine handling of hazardous chemicals — strict PPE and safety protocol adherence required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $28.00 per hour (Contract to Hire).

- Individual compensation within the posted range depends on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
