Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Chemical Technician for an onsite manufacturing role in Dannelly / Montgomery, AL (1391 Mitchell Young Road, Montgomery, AL 36108). This is an entry-level, contract position (possible full-time) on day shift (3:00 AM – 12:00 PM). The role supports paint detackification and related chemical/process systems used in automotive component manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
- Perform daily chemical tests, document results, and support chemistry adjustments to maintain process performance.
- Operate and maintain paint detackification and separation equipment; optimize flows, valves and separators.
- Assist with chemical handling: move drums/totes, change supply, and support inventory tracking for cost control.
- Run jar tests and washer checks (5-stage titration) specific to the Montgomery, AL location.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on chemical feed pumps and application equipment.
- Follow established quality systems and standard operating procedures; complete routine logs and reports.
- Work safely on the manufacturing floor while using required PPE.
Key responsibilities
- Daily system testing, titrations, jar tests and process observations.
- Adjust chemical feed rates and operate pumping/control systems.
- Maintain inventory records for chemistry and consumables.
- Assist with routine mechanical tasks (moving drums with dollies, adjusting valves).
- Support process separation/optimization to reduce paint waste.
- Follow site safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience (position targets entry-level candidates; managers are not seeking candidates with more than 3 years’ experience).
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with standard IT tools.
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn hands-on process and equipment tasks.
- Able to work standing for extended periods, perform physically demanding tasks, and work rotating shifts/weekends when required.
- Must be available to work 100% onsite at the Montgomery/Dannelly, AL location.
Preferred / helpful experience
- Coursework or internships related to industrial chemistry, process control, or coatings/paint systems.
- Experience or familiarity with titration, chemical dosing, or separation equipment.
- Basic troubleshooting and small-mechanical-repair skills.
Work environment & physical requirements
- This is a manufacturing-floor position that can be messy and physically demanding.
- Required PPE may include steel-toe shoes/boots (candidate is expected to obtain their own steel-toed footwear), eye & ear protection, chemical face shields, aprons, and gloves.
- Must be able to lift/move drums/totes with proper equipment and follow safe material handling procedures.

Compensation
- Estimated pay: $54,701 per year (estimated figure provided by source). Actual pay and benefits will be determined by the Confidential Client and final offer.
