The Role

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Chemical Technician for an onsite manufacturing site in Montgomery, AL. This is a hands-on, full-time role supporting paint detackification and wastewater/paint-waste processing systems used in automotive components manufacturing. The role is entry-level (0–3 years experience) and is ideal for recent graduates or early-career candidates with a degree in Chemistry or Engineering and strong mechanical aptitude.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform routine chemical tests (jar tests, titrations and other analyses) and accurately document daily results.
  • Monitor and adjust chemical feed rates and separation equipment to maintain process performance.
  • Operate and assist with chemical pumping systems and safe handling of drums/totes using dollies and other material-handling equipment.
  • Run washer checks (5-stage titration) and other location-specific QC tasks.
  • Support troubleshooting and basic repair of chemical feed pumps and application equipment.
  • Maintain chemical inventory records to support cost control and supply needs.
  • Follow established quality systems, safety procedures and SOPs; escalate issues when out of spec.
  • Work with cross-functional on-site teams to keep production running and compliant with environmental/safety expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering discipline.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience — this position is intended for entry-level candidates. Candidates with more than 3 years’ experience should not apply.
  • Basic lab/test skills: jar testing, titration familiarity, accurate record keeping.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to do physical, manufacturing-floor work.
  • Proficiency with basic IT tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and clear written/verbal communication.
  • Problem-solving ability and familiarity with basic root cause analysis concepts.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends when required; occasional limited travel may be necessary.

Schedule & Location

  • Location: Montgomery, AL — 1391 Mitchell Young Road (100% onsite).
  • Shift: Day Shift (3:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
  • Employment type: Full-time.

Working Conditions & PPE

  • This role is performed on a manufacturing floor and can be messy/dirty. Candidates must be physically capable of standing for extended periods and moving drums/totes.
  • Required PPE: steel-toed boots, eye & ear protection, chemical handling PPE (face shields, aprons, gloves). Candidates are expected to provide their own steel-toed boots; neither Confidential Client nor the end client will cover this expense.
  • Safety procedures and correct handling of chemicals are mandatory.

Compensation

  • Estimated pay: $56,546 per year (estimated).
