Entry Level CAD Drafters
The Entry Level CAD Drafter role involves creating and maintaining high-quality 3D models, drawings, and Bills of Materials for large power generation components, supporting Confidential Client's Configuration Management and Product Definition teams. The position requires collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure producible designs, adherence to Confidential Client standards including GD&T, and proficiency in PLM and change management processes. This full-time role is primarily onsite in Schenectady, NY, with hybrid remote flexibility after training.

What You’ll Do
This full-time, entry-level CAD drafting role supports large power-generation component design (steam turbines / generators). You will take engineering input and produce producible 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and Bills of Materials that meet quality and schedule expectations.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and Bills of Materials for large power generation components.
- Retrieve and interpret engineering input, applying standard design practices and internal drawing standards.
- Issue drawings, CAD models, and BOMs using documented change-management and PLM processes.
- Coordinate with drafting, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are producible and meet requirements.
- Apply GD&T principles and follow drawing standards to ensure dimensional accuracy and fit.
- Track design schedules, communicate issues early, and help meet delivery milestones.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), OR any degree plus a drafting certificate (or similar) from a technical school/college.
- Working knowledge of CAD packages (examples: NX, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.
- Basic experience or familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and change-management workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary teams.
- Motivated to grow a career in drafting and design within power-generation or heavy-equipment manufacturing.

Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday; typical shift around 7/8am–4/5pm EST.
- Location: Onsite in Upper Union, NY with potential hybrid flexibility after ramp-up and training.
- Employment type: Full-time.
