What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Buyer / Purchasing role supporting a confidential client in medical device manufacturing. You will plan and procure materials to support the production schedule, maintain inventory targets, and support purchasing processes to ensure timely, compliant delivery of components.

  • Plan and procure materials based on MRP output to meet production schedules and inventory goals
  • Issue and maintain purchase orders (MRP and MRO), set delivery requirements and payment terms
  • Communicate with vendors on pricing, lead times, expedited deliveries, and invoicing issues
  • Monitor inventory levels, support cycle counts and annual physical inventories
  • Generate and publish regular reports (inventory forecasts, PPV actuals/forecasts, supplier scorecards)
  • Support cost-improvement and PPV initiatives; assist with supplier scorecards and performance tracking
  • Participate in daily production meetings and collaborate with Materials, Accounts Payable, and Production teams
  • Follow SOPs, cGMP, and ISO-related supplier control requirements; draft procurement specification updates when needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 0–3 years in procurement/planning OR demonstrated aptitude for procurement/planning tasks (posting lists 3+ years preferred)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (required) and strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Demonstrated communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of planning systems, lead times, and manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of ISO-13485 supplier controls or experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • 3+ years’ experience as Buyer / Planner (preferred)
  • Experience developing cost standards, vendor selection, price negotiation, and purchase order system maintenance
  • Experience with data/cost analytics and PPV / CIP project support

Compensation & Logistics

  • Pay rate: $20–$25 per hour
  • Employment type: Contract (W2); full-time, 1st shift
  • Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension depending on client needs)
  • Location: On-site — Zelienople, PA
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.

  • Typical manufacturing/plant environment; duties include extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting
  • May occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
