What You’ll Do
This entry-level Business Intelligence Analyst role in San Jose puts you on the front line of data-driven decision making. You will support operational reporting, dashboarding, and ad-hoc analysis that help stakeholders act on insights.
- Assist with data extraction, cleaning, validation, and transformation using SQL and spreadsheets.
- Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations (Tableau, Power BI or similar).
- Produce recurring and ad-hoc reports to track KPIs and trends.
- Translate business questions into analysis and clearly present results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Help document data sources, metrics, and processes; maintain a data dictionary.
- Collaborate with data engineers, product managers, and other teams to improve data quality and reporting cadence.
What We’re Looking For
This is an entry-level position (0–2 years) ideal for recent graduates or early-career candidates who can learn quickly and apply analytical thinking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or a related field — OR equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong SQL fundamentals: SELECT, JOINs, GROUP BY, aggregations.
- Comfortable with Excel; familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or another BI tool.
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to present findings to business partners.
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; candidates on any visa type are encouraged to apply.
Preferred (nice-to-have)
- Experience with Python (pandas) or R for data analysis.
- Basic knowledge of data modeling and ETL concepts.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or modern data stacks.
- Internships, class projects, or portfolio work demonstrating applied analytics.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $78,000 - $127,000 per year
- Employment type: Full-time
