Job Overview

Confidential Client (IT) is seeking an Entry-Level Business Analyst to join their Manhattan, NY team. This full-time role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals who want hands-on experience in business analysis, data analysis, and project support. Estimated compensation: $55,280 per year (estimated).


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), functional requirements, process flows, and project documentation.
  • Analyze business and operational data using Microsoft Excel and SQL.
  • Assist with creating reports, dashboards, and KPI presentations using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test case preparation, and requirement validation.
  • Track requirements, project activities, issues, action items, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, QA Engineers, Product Owners, and Project Managers.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, stakeholder meetings, and project discussions.
  • Perform ad hoc business and data analysis as required.
  • Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Reporting, Operations, or a related area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of business analysis concepts and requirements gathering.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of SDLC.
  • Experience creating user stories, BRDs, FRDs, or process flow diagrams.
  • Knowledge of UAT and test documentation.
  • Basic Python knowledge is a plus.
  • Relevant internship, academic project, or certification in Business Analysis or Data Analytics is a plus.
