What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Entry‑Level Engineer for their Building Technology team in Chicago, IL. In this hands‑on role you will support building envelope design, evaluation, investigation, and repair design under the direction of licensed engineers.

  • Assist with new design and evaluation of existing building envelopes and façade systems
  • Perform field investigations that may include climbing ladders and scaffolds and working at heights
  • Visit multiple job sites by car to collect field data and observe construction conditions
  • Support preparation of drawings, repair details, reports, and technical specifications
  • Learn to apply principles of materials science, moisture control, and structural behavior to building enclosures
  • Collaborate with project teams, communicate findings to clients and colleagues, and contribute to technical deliverables

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor of Architectural Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 0–5 years of relevant experience; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in building construction, building enclosures, or building technology
  • Comfortable with field work, including climbing ladders/scaffolds and working at heights
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Problem‑solving orientation, attention to detail, and a teachable mindset
  • Preferred experience (not required): AutoCAD, Revit, industrial rope access/rock climbing, mechanical repair, or prior construction experience

Compensation & Benefits

The posting includes a good‑faith salary estimate per applicable pay‑transparency guidance:

  • Base salary estimate: $79,560 — $85,280 USD (annual). Actual offer will depend on experience and qualifications.
