What You’ll Do

The Confidential Client is seeking an Entry‑Level Bridge Engineer to join their civil/transportation practice in Kansas City, MO. In this hands‑on role you will support bridge and transportation projects while learning from experienced engineers.

  • Provide basic project design support and CAD drafting for bridges and related structures (retaining walls, storm and traffic structures).
  • Assist with inspections, rehabilitation plans, and load rating analyses.
  • Prepare technical research and contribute to engineering reports and specifications.
  • Support construction engineering services and perform occasional field/site observations.
  • Collaborate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, and stormwater teams to deliver coordinated solutions.
  • Learn and develop engineering skills under senior staff mentorship; take ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis or a closely related field.
  • 0–4 years of relevant engineering experience; recent graduates strongly encouraged to apply (candidates graduating December 2026 are welcome).
  • Ability to obtain Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification within 18 months by passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively on multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in engineering or in pursuit of one.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Interest in transportation planning, bridge design/analysis, and field inspection work.
