What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Background Investigator for an onsite role at their Virtual Investigations Operation Center in East Lake-Orient Park, FL. This position requires daily, Monday–Friday onsite presence. You will conduct and document thorough background investigations using virtual teleconference (VTC) and telephone interviews while working from the designated onsite location.
- Conduct comprehensive interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references, and other knowledgeable individuals.
- Use multiple electronic systems and tools simultaneously to collect and verify factual records.
- Resolve material issues in cases to establish background, reputation, character, suitability, and qualifications of subjects.
- Participate in a multiweek, intensive onsite training program followed by shadowing and mentorship from experienced investigators.
- Maintain accurate, timely case documentation and follow established procedures for recordkeeping and report preparation.
Responsibilities
- Required daily, Monday–Friday, onsite presence at the Virtual Investigations Operation Center in East Lake-Orient Park, FL.
- Conduct interviews primarily via Virtual Teleconference (VTC) and phone, while onsite.
- Access and manage multiple technology systems concurrently to complete investigative tasks efficiently.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve discrepancies in records and interviews.
- Complete assigned cases within established quality and timeliness standards.
- Attend training and engage in ongoing professional development and feedback sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem solving, planning/organizing work, and effective oral and written communication.
- Active Top Secret security clearance (T5 adjudication) required.
- Strong commitment to mission and national security priorities.
- High integrity, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor.
- Comfortable sitting and typing for extended periods.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Exceptional written and oral communication; able to convey complex or sensitive information clearly.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse individuals and to handle challenging conversations tactfully.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience using multiple software systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in interviewing, report writing, or investigative research.
- Able to work independently while following strict procedures and quality standards.
Compensation & Benefits
This role is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay for this location meets or exceeds the applicable wage determination.
- Minimum required hourly wage: $26.07 per hour (SCA minimum). Final pay may depend on experience, location factors, and other qualifications.
