Entry Level Automotive Parts Associate
The Entry Level Automotive Parts Associate is responsible for maintaining optimal parts inventory levels, minimizing obsolescence, and ensuring accurate financial and inventory reporting within the dealership. This role involves organizing the parts department, managing orders and returns, tracking lost sales, and collaborating with accounting to resolve discrepancies, contributing to efficient parts operations and customer service in a dynamic automotive environment.

What You’ll Do
- Maintain accurate parts inventory while minimizing obsolescence and loss.
- Organize and maintain the parts area with logical bin locations and correct part-number mapping in the inventory system.
- Receive, ship, log and track parts and related documentation daily.
- Manage special orders and emergency orders; track dollar-volume and impacts on obsolescence.
- Process returns and obsolescence claims per supplier rules and coordinate with accounting.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliation and assist accounting with billings, receivables, claims, and discrepancies.
- Track lost sales and monitor stock levels to support service-level goals.
- Follow and promote loss-prevention measures and maintain a professional work area.
- Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental objectives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical school or college coursework is a plus.
- Entry-level candidates are welcome; related retail, warehouse, or parts experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness and ability to perform physical tasks associated with parts handling.
- Reliable work history and ability to follow established procedures.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn parts/inventory systems.
- Good written and verbal communication for working with service teams and vendors.
- Practical problem-solving and ability to follow written, oral, and diagrammed instructions.
- Basic math skills (percentages, ratios, measurements).
