The Role
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Automation Travel Engineer to deliver hands-on commissioning, troubleshooting, and automation work at customer sites. This is a travel-first, field-facing engineering role with a structured onboarding and training program for early-career engineers (0–3 years).
What You’ll Do
- Understand complex system designs and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
- Program controls and automation solutions for manufacturing, food & beverage, packaging, and assembly lines
- Develop automated test systems (EV battery test systems, aerospace/rocket test, turnkey test and cloud-enabled measurement systems)
- Travel to customer manufacturing sites for installation, commissioning, and on-site problem solving
- Collaborate with project teams; assist senior engineers with scoping, estimating, and proposals
- Manage tasks, prioritize needs, mitigate risks, and communicate status to clients
- Build leadership and technical skills through hands-on projects and mentorship
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.4
- Entry-level engineer (0–3 years experience); strong onboarding and training will be provided
- Solid fundamentals in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
- Interest and ability to program in text-based, object-oriented languages
- Quick learner with a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client- and team-facing work
- Able and willing to travel 90%–100% for the first 18 months (option to transition to ~30%–40% travel afterward)
- Access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future
ITAR Requirements
To comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), refugees, or asylees as defined under U.S. law.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Denver, CO (role requires extensive on-site field work)
- Hybrid/field role design but expect the majority of time onsite at customer facilities during initial assignment
Compensation
- Salary range: $89,000—$101,000 USD (based on experience, industry, and location)
- Additional travel compensation and enhanced vacation accrual for project-based schedule
