Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Entry Level Associate Neurophysiologist to join a field-based intraoperative neuromonitoring (IOM/IONM) team serving hospitals across West Virginia (WV). This entry-level role provides hands-on patient monitoring during surgery, ongoing training, and career development toward CNIM certification. The position requires regular travel within the state, excellent communication with surgical teams, and a commitment to high standards of patient care.
What You’ll Do
As an Associate Neurophysiologist you will support surgical teams by monitoring the nervous system during procedures and communicating findings in real time.
- Obtain a focused medical history and consult with surgeons about structures at risk and modalities to monitor
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain neuromonitoring equipment; perform routine maintenance checks
- Record, label, and display waveforms; mark and measure latencies, amplitudes, and conduction times per protocol
- Select appropriate monitoring protocols and use troubleshooting techniques to ensure accurate data collection
- Communicate monitoring information, alerts, and recommendations to the surgeon and OR team throughout the case
- Complete required documentation, IOM logs, and timely file uploads
- Follow company compliance policies, codes of conduct, and applicable laws and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree (no prior professional experience required)
- CNIM-eligible via an ABRET-defined pathway (Bachelor’s degree, R EEG T or R EP T certification, or graduate of a CAAHEP or NIM IOM program)
- Knowledge or coursework in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM), human anatomy & physiology, or technical troubleshooting preferred
- Operating Room (OR) experience is preferred but not required
- Strong time management and organizational skills; resilient to frequent schedule changes and OR demands
- Effective English communication skills and ability to collaborate with surgeons and surgical staff
- Ability to travel regularly for field-based coverage (see Travel & Physical Requirements)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain privileges at required hospitals and meet any applicable vaccination or physical requirements
- Eligible for standard-rate medical malpractice insurance (coverage provided by the Company)
- Commitment to obtaining and maintaining CNIM certification
Travel & Physical Requirements
- Field-based role with travel up to 25%
- Ability to transport and set up equipment (up to ~50 lbs) including IONM system, laptop, and supplies
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, bend, use manual dexterity, and wear required personal protective equipment for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base pay: $48,785 per year (estimated)
