Role overview

This entry-level Associate role in Lansing, MI supports audit, tax, and accounting engagements under direct supervision. You will perform assigned engagement work, learn firm procedures and professional standards, and be supported in CPA exam preparation and career development. Start date will be January 2028 or June 2028 depending on graduation timing.


What you’ll do

This is a hands-on role providing practical experience on client engagements and enabling early-career professional growth.

  • Work on assigned segments of audit, tax, or accounting engagements under supervision
  • Assume responsibility for discrete tasks and, when appropriate, for small engagements (with oversight)
  • Follow firm policies, AICPA, and state CPA society rules, regulations, and ethics
  • Meet chargeable hours and productivity expectations
  • Stay current with pronouncements from AICPA, FASB, GASB and other standard-setting bodies
  • Learn and use firm procedures and software required to complete audit and review engagements
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with teammates and clients; accept responsibility for assigned work

Qualifications

We encourage recent graduates and those completing degrees in accounting or business to apply.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Plan to complete the CPA exam within two years of employment and meet education requirements for licensure (if additional credits are needed)
  • Strong computer skills and willingness to learn firm systems
  • Good written and verbal communication, teamwork, and professional judgment

Compensation & benefits

Estimated total compensation (from source): $73,390 per year — actual offer will depend on experience and location.
