What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Associate Account Manager to provide high-quality phone and email support for 401(k) plan clients. This is a client-facing, team-based role where you’ll learn retirement plan administration, receive paid training, and work toward industry credentials (QKA support provided). The role is hybrid: four days per week on-site in Houston, TX, and one day remote.

  • Provide timely, professional support to plan sponsors and participants on 401(k) plan questions (census submissions, Form 5500, basic plan rules).
  • Troubleshoot web/portal access, reset passwords, and resolve VOIP/phone routing issues as needed.
  • Follow up with clients by phone or email to gather missing information and ensure timely plan servicing.
  • Document all client interactions and casework in the firm’s workflow system.
  • Collaborate with account managers and cross-functional teams to deliver a positive client experience.
  • Meet weekly goals and contribute to a results-oriented team environment.
  • Complete assigned training and actively work toward obtaining industry designations (QKA).
  • Assist with additional duties to balance workloads and broaden training exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Customer service experience or help-desk exposure is a plus.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to compose professional emails.
  • Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette.
  • Solid time management, organization, and ability to multi-task.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and standard business software.
  • Exposure to VOIP phone systems is a plus.
  • Coachable, committed to continuous learning, and able to follow established procedures.

Salary & Benefits

  • Base salary: $55,000 - $60,000 per year.
  • Salaried, non-exempt position.

Work Location & Hours

  • Hybrid role — required to work on-site in the Houston, TX office four days per week; up to one remote day per week.
  • Position begins January 2027.
  • Standard business hours, 40 hours per week. Choose a start time between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM CST.
  • Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • Regular video meetings via Microsoft Teams (or equivalent).
  • All necessary computer equipment will be supplied.
