Position Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Accounting Specialist to join their Finance team in Countryside, IL. This on-site, full-time role supports accounts payable, cash receipts, reconciliations, client allowance payments, and monthly financial reporting. Ideal for an early-career accounting professional seeking hands-on non-profit finance experience.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle — invoice processing, coding, approval coordination, payments, and record maintenance.
- Work with vendors to research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment questions.
- Process cash receipts and deposits; ensure donations and other revenue are accurately recorded.
- Reconcile monthly corporate credit card and client LINK card accounts.
- Administer monthly allowance payments to individuals in CILA residences and maintain ACH banking templates.
- Support daily Finance operations, month-end close activities, and year-end processes.
- Prepare financial analyses, reconciliations, schedules, and reports as assigned.
- Help develop, implement, and monitor accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Work cross-departmentally to research and resolve accounting questions and discrepancies.
- Participate in meetings, training, and agency events; assist with special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience using financial software and performing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, or payroll tasks.
- Experience in non-profit accounting or social service agencies is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required) and comfort using accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ongoing personal motor vehicle insurance.
- Ability to work on-site Monday–Friday; occasional travel between organizational locations may be required.

- Estimated salary: $38,750 per year (estimated).
- Up to 8% annual bonus potential.
