Position Details
This is a temp-to-hire Accounting Administrative role supporting a growing finance team. The position requires initial on-site training followed by a mostly-remote or hybrid schedule. Employment may convert to permanent based on performance and business need.
- Contract type: Temp-to-hire
- Hours: 30–40 hrs/week
- Pay rate: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (DOE)
- Training: Initial on-site training for the first 4 days in Columbia, MD
- Ongoing schedule: After training — hybrid (2–3 days/week on-site) or 100% remote, depending on team placement and business needs
- Employment type: FULL_TIME
What You’ll Do
- Collect and route invoices to the appropriate projects and team members
- Monitor and manage a shared accounting inbox to maintain accurate invoice workflows
- Coordinate with project teams to obtain approvals and ensure timely payment processing
- Collect and maintain W-9s and vendor documentation for new vendors
- Support general accounting administration tasks and ad hoc projects
- Assist with the accounting software implementation and related data or process tasks as needed
Who You Are / Requirements
- Comfortable with detail-oriented, repetitive administrative work
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Able to learn new systems and follow documented processes
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records
- Good written and verbal communication when coordinating with internal teams and vendors
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pVault, Sage 300, or other paperless accounting environments
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Prior exposure to invoice routing, vendor onboarding, or accounting software implementations
