What You’ll Do
This entry-level accounting role supports core finance operations for a confidential client in Stamford, CT. You will work with the accounting team to keep financial records accurate, assist in monthly close tasks, and handle day-to-day transactional work.
- Record routine journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts and other balance-sheet accounts by researching discrepancies and resolving variances.
- Support month-end close activities: organize financial data, prepare schedules, and assist with closing tasks.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare supporting schedules and assist with internal financial reporting.
- Maintain organized accounting records, documentation, and workflows.
- Assist with audit preparation and complete ad hoc accounting assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- Up to 2 years of accounting experience (including internships or entry-level roles).
- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent record of accurate work.
- Good organizational and communication skills; able to work collaboratively on a team.
- Demonstrated interest in learning and developing accounting expertise.
