Position overview
Confidential client is hiring multiple entry-level / junior accountant roles across the Capital Region. These positions are designed for recent graduates or early-career accounting professionals who want hands-on exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities. You will work closely with experienced finance teams to build technical skills and progress toward permanent accounting roles.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Prepare and enter journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
- Support month-end and year-end close tasks
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with account analysis and routine financial reporting
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
- Use Microsoft Excel and accounting software to organize and analyze data
- Partner with accounting and finance teams on special projects and process improvements
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Internship experience, accounting coursework, or 0–3 years of accounting experience preferred
- Basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or part-time accounting experience
- Familiarity with ERP or accounting software
- Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, or general ledger activities
- Candidates pursuing CPA certification are encouraged to apply
