Position Overview
Careertakes is supporting a confidential client in the Accounting & Finance industry seeking an Entry Level Accountant in Long Beach, CA. This full-time, on-site role is a hands-on accounting position focused on accounts payable and foundational accounting tasks. The confidential client provides training and mentorship to help you build a strong accounting foundation and grow your career.
What You’ll Do
- Process high-volume accounts payable transactions
- Review invoices and ensure accurate GL coding
- Maintain vendor records and assist with W-9 and 1099 compliance
- Generate checks and prepare supporting payment documentation
- Research and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies
- Reconcile A/P aging reports
- Assist with journal entries and month-end close activities
- Work closely with internal departments to answer accounting-related questions
- Support audits and other accounting projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or graduating soon)
- Strong understanding of debits and credits
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Eager to learn and grow within an accounting career
- Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
- Previous accounting experience is a plus—comprehensive training will be provided
Compensation & Location
- Pay: $26 - $28 an hour
- Location: Long Beach, CA — on-site
- Employment type: Full-time
