What You’ll Do
This Entry Level Accountant will support day-to-day accounting and month-end activities for a transport-focused operation based in Georgetown, KY. You will work with transactional data, prepare reconciliations, and help keep financial records audit-ready. This role is ideal for candidates who are early in their accounting careers and want hands-on experience with AP/AR, journal entries, and Excel-based analysis.
- Support month-end and period-end close by preparing journal entries and assisting with general ledger updates
- Perform bank account reviews and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy
- Review financial results, investigate variances, and prepare clear summaries for accounting leadership
- Process invoices and assist with revenue-related calculations following internal accounting practices
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, including transaction review and data entry
- Maintain complete documentation for accounting activities to support audits and internal controls
- Communicate reconciliation issues, status updates, and findings to team members and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience preferred; 2 years is a plus
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills — building and maintaining spreadsheets for accounting analysis
- Working knowledge of bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, and basic financial reporting
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and organized documentation practices
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate on a team
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in transportation or logistics accounting
- Familiarity with an ERP or general ledger system (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage)
- Prior exposure to month-end close processes in a corporate environment
