Overview

This is an entry-level Accountant position supporting a manufacturing organization on a contract-to-permanent basis in Flower Mound, TX. You will gain hands-on experience across core accounting functions — including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close — while partnering with multiple internal teams to keep financial records accurate and audit-ready. The role is ideal for early-career candidates ready to grow in accounting within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Record and apply incoming customer payments; ensure accurate posting in the accounting system.
• Reconcile customer and vendor account balances; investigate discrepancies and follow up with external contacts to resolve open items.
• Create and maintain vendor and customer records, including credit and tax documentation (e.g., W-9s).
• Complete bank account reconciliations and review activity to confirm accuracy of financial data.
• Support month-end and year-end close by preparing accruals, adjustments, and other required journal entries.
• Collect and match company card receipts; follow up with card users for missing or incomplete documentation.
• Review invoices for correct account coding and prepare accounts payable items for approval and processing.
• Prepare journal entries and collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to resolve billing/payment issues.
• Assist external auditors by compiling schedules, account details, and supporting documents during audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.
• 0–3 years of accounting experience, including exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger work.
• Working knowledge of bank reconciliations, account reconciliation, and journal-entry preparation.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping practices.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors, customers, auditors, and internal teams.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and familiarity with accounting systems.

Compensation & Location

• Hourly rate: $23.75 — $27.50 per hour.
• Employment type: Contract-to-permanent (initial contractor assignment with potential conversion to full-time).
• Location: Flower Mound, TX (on-site / local to the area).
• Work authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
