About the Role
Confidential Client, a well-established, family-owned manufacturing and distribution organization, is hiring an Entry-Level Accountant on a contract-to-hire basis. This newly created role offers broad exposure across accounting functions (AP/AR, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, budgeting and reporting) and hands-on experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Location: Clark, NJ — fully onsite. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional who wants a strong foundation and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable: invoice processing, payment tracking, and account maintenance
- Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end closing activities
- Maintain and update the general ledger and financial records
- Support budgeting, financial reporting, and basic data analysis
- Collaborate with the accounting team on day-to-day operations and special projects
- Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Excel for accounting tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field from a U.S.-based, in-person academic program
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Analytical mindset and willingness to learn multiple accounting functions
- Effective verbal and written communication; team-oriented
- Experience with Microsoft Excel or accounting software is a plus
Compensation & Schedule
- Temp pay rate: $25/hr – $28/hr (during contract period)
- Salary upon conversion: $60,000/year (target after hire)
- Employment type: Contract-to-Hire (temp-to-perm)
- Schedule: Fully onsite, Monday–Friday; flexible start times: 8:00 AM, 8:30 AM, or 9:00 AM
