Confidential Client is hiring an Entry Level Accountant to join a growing Accounting & Finance team in Claiborne, LA. This hands-on, full-time role supports accounts payable, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The position is ideal for candidates with a 4‑year accounting degree, internships or up to 2 years of accounting experience who want broad exposure to transactional accounting and financial statement support.

• Estimated pay: $62,310 per year (estimated)

What you’ll do

Provide accurate, timely accounting support across accounts payable and general financial reporting. Typical responsibilities include:

• Process and reconcile accounts payable transactions accurately and on time
• Assist with preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements
• Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for month-end close
• Support general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and accounts receivable tasks as needed
• Work closely with the department head to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with internal controls
• Use Excel to prepare analyses, reconciliations, and summary schedules

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
• 0–2 years of accounting experience (including internships or entry-level roles)
• Working knowledge of GAAP and comfort handling transactional financial data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations)
• Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger support
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines during monthly close cycles
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with finance and operations teams
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and sound problem-solving ability
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

• Internship, public accounting, or corporate accounting experience
• Experience in oil & gas or related industries (helpful but not required)
