What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring entry-level technologists to join full-time roles focused on Java, Spring Boot, and data-related work. This is a hands-on, training-forward opportunity designed to take candidates from supporting roles or classroom learning into production engineering and data roles. Typical responsibilities include:

• Participate in guided projects and code labs to build working Java and Spring Boot applications
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs using Spring Boot
• Write and optimize SQL queries and interact with relational databases
• Use Git for source control and participate in team code reviews
• Implement unit and integration tests and follow basic testing best practices
• Complete coding challenges and interview prep focused on data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Assist on data-focused tasks (basic data cleaning, exploratory analysis, or model prototyping) for data scientist or analytics tracks when applicable
• Communicate progress, blockers, and technical decisions with mentors and hiring teams

Who Should Apply

Minimum Qualifications

• Foundational programming knowledge — Java or C++ experience preferred
• Basic understanding of OOP concepts, collections, and debugging
• Familiarity with SQL and basic database concepts
• Comfortable using Git or willing to learn version control workflows
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to practice coding interview topics (DSA)
• Right to work in the U.S. and ability to work from the Detroit, MI area as required

Strong organizational skills and clear written/verbal communication are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or projects using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, or Python
• Any experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD basics, or cloud fundamentals
• Prior internship, classroom projects, or portfolio demonstrating code you wrote
• Interest in data science or machine learning for roles that blend dev + data responsibilities

• Salary range: $82,000 - $127,000 per year (range reflects the roles currently hiring)
