Position summary
Confidential Client is hiring an Enterprise Security Engineer (Entry-level / I) to join their IT security engineering team in Nashville, TN. This role helps assess and improve security posture across applications, networks, and cloud environments by applying security standards, participating in architecture and design reviews, and contributing automation to scale security processes.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with security posture reviews for applications, networks, and environments; gather data, document findings, and track remediation.
- Support solution and process engineering to expand and automate security review capabilities.
- Apply organizational and NIST security standards and relevant regulatory requirements to assigned work.
- Produce clear documentation of assessments, risks, and remediation steps for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Information Security, IT teams, business partners, and vendors to integrate security controls.
- Participate in peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and training activities.
- Track tasks, metrics, and remediation progress; escalate blockers and material risks as needed.
- Research security technologies and recommend improvements that support business objectives.
- Translate established security standards into actionable requirements for teams across the organization.
- Maintain ethical standards and protect the integrity of security activities.

Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience or technical training may be substituted.
- One year or less of relevant work experience (entry-level).

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, and escalate when guidance is needed.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in information security, systems engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or related technical fields in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with identity and access management (AD, Azure Entra ID), cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and one or more domains such as endpoint, network, cloud, or application security.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, PCI, SOX, or GDPR.
- Entry-level security certifications (CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CC, SSCP, GSEC, or equivalent) are a plus.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for problem solving and automation is a plus.
- Experience securing clinical applications or working in healthcare IT is a plus.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Estimated base (provided by source): $79,877 per year (estimated).
