Role summary
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Enterprise Application Administrator to join Enterprise Technology. In this role you will provide day-to-day administration and operational support for a portfolio of business SaaS applications (the “long tail” outside Tier 1 enterprise platforms). You’ll onboard applications into central administration, manage tenant settings and licenses, perform user provisioning and deprovisioning, and act as the primary operational contact for assigned apps — all working from established runbooks and under manager direction.
What You’ll Do
You will:
- Onboard new and transferred SaaS and business applications into central administration using the Enterprise Applications intake standard: confirm the business owner, record the application in the Master Tracker, validate data classification and access model, and complete the administrator handover checklist.
- Perform tenant administration for assigned SaaS applications: maintain administrator roles, security and authentication settings, tenant-level configuration, and integration settings to Confidential Client standards.
- Manage licenses: track entitlements, assignments, and utilization; reclaim unused or inactive licenses; and provide license and usage data to Software Asset Management before renewals.
- Execute user provisioning and deprovisioning via ServiceNow requests and, where available, SSO and SCIM provisioning through Microsoft Entra ID; support periodic access reviews.
- Plan, test, and implement configuration changes through the change management process; keep configuration records so changes are traceable and repeatable.
- Serve as the primary support point for assigned applications: resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs, troubleshoot access/configuration issues, escalate to vendors as needed, and publish knowledge articles for Service Desk enablement.
- Produce recurring operational reports on application health, access, license utilization, ticket volume, and renewals; keep the Master Tracker current (owner, administrator, SSO status, renewal date, cost).
- Coordinate with vendors as the day-to-day technical contact: open/track support cases, monitor release notes and maintenance windows, and provide operational input for renewals.
- Monitor SSO certificates, application registration secrets, and integration credentials; coordinate renewals before expiration to avoid outages.
- Create and maintain administrator runbooks, SOPs, and records so support is transferable.
- Support audit and assurance activities (e.g., SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001, PCI DSS) by producing access lists, change records, and configuration evidence.
- Support application retirement and consolidation: remove access, export or archive data per retention rules, terminate licenses, and update portfolio records.
What You’ll Need
Required:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, information systems, computer science, or equivalent experience.
- 1–3 years experience in IT support, application support, or SaaS administration in a business environment.
- Hands-on experience administering at least one business SaaS application (users, roles, permissions, configuration).
- Working knowledge of SSO protocols (SAML, OpenID Connect), MFA, and the joiner/mover/leaver lifecycle; exposure to Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with an ITSM ticketing tool (ServiceNow preferred), meeting service levels and documenting resolutions.
- Experience tracking license assignments and utilization and identifying licenses to reclaim.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking, reconciling, and reporting operational data.
- Ability to work within change management, least-privilege access, and documentation requirements in an audited environment.
- Clear, customer-focused written and verbal communication with business users and vendors.
Nice to Have
Preferred:
- Experience in a data center, colocation, hyperscale, or other high-availability operating environment.
- Experience in a private-equity-owned or high-growth organization (comfortable with pace and ambiguity).
- Hands-on experience configuring enterprise applications and SCIM provisioning in Microsoft Entra ID; familiarity with Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune.
- Experience administering a broad portfolio of business SaaS platforms (collaboration, e-signature, project management, design, LOB tools).
- Exposure to SaaS management or software asset management tooling and renewal processes.
- Basic scripting/automation (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Power Automate) to reduce repetitive tasks.
- Experience building operational reports or dashboards in Power BI.
- Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001, PCI DSS, or SOX ITGC evidence requests.
- Relevant credentials (ITIL 4 Foundation; CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+; Microsoft SC-300; Microsoft 365 Fundamentals; ServiceNow CSA).
