What You’ll Do

This entry-level Engineering Technologist role bridges field operations and engineering design for in-building wireless systems (DAS/BDA) and public-safety projects. You'll support projects from quoting through design, testing, commissioning, and closeout while building practical RF and design skills.

• Develop project quotes, estimates, and proposals for DAS and public-safety wireless projects in coordination with sales and project management.
• Create and maintain iBwave-based designs, construction drawings, equipment layouts, and design submittals for review.
• Perform on-site RF surveys (pre- and post-installation) to collect signal data and site conditions.
• Use RF test equipment (primarily PCTEL tools, spectrum analyzers, and survey instruments) for system testing, commissioning, and verification.
• Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and supporting design documentation.
• Perform basic link budget calculations and coverage/data analysis to inform designs.
• Travel to job sites to verify installations, troubleshoot field issues, and incorporate as-built conditions into design packages.
• Communicate technical guidance and updated designs to field teams as site conditions or scope change.
• Assist with light construction and field installation tasks—especially during onboarding—to learn hands-on how DAS/BDA systems and cabling are installed.
• Ensure designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and client/engineering specifications.
• Support project documentation, design submittals, and closeout packages.
• Participate in team meetings and project reviews; report project status, risks, and technical requirements to internal stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned, with increasing design and field coordination responsibility as skills develop.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience or military service will be considered.
• 0–2 years of experience in RF/telecom, IT, or related technical fields; internships or hands-on projects are a plus.
• Basic understanding of RF theory, wireless communications, and in-building wireless/DAS concepts, or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn iBwave design software.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn RF test equipment (preferably PCTEL tools) and spectrum analyzers.
• IT aptitude (this role will support internal IT tasks and systems relevant to the engineering group).
• Strong computer skills (MS Office — Excel, Word, Outlook); CAD, Visio, or Bluebeam experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, construction documents, and specifications (or aptitude to learn).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with engineering and field teams.
• Dependable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a safe driving record.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in active field environments as needed.
• Ability to travel to job sites, including occasional overnight travel.

Compensation & Schedule

• Hourly rate: $24.00 — $33.00 per hour.
• Employment type: Contract / Full-time.
• On-site field work required periodically; some overnight travel may be necessary during project deployments.
• This role is physically active at times and will include site visits and light installation tasks during training and as needed.
