What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an Engineering Technician to support development, optimization, and day‑to‑day operation of a battery electrode pilot manufacturing line. You will work with Process Engineers and R&D to run experiments, operate pilot equipment, maintain quality, and troubleshoot production issues to drive yield and consistency.

• Set up, operate, and maintain pilot‑scale electrode manufacturing equipment (planetary/high‑shear mixers, slot‑die coaters, calender, etc.).
• Execute experimental runs and record batch/build logs and test data.
• Monitor product quality using metrology (slurry viscosity/rheology, coating thickness, mass loading, particle size analysis) and support statistical process control.
• Provide frontline troubleshooting and maintenance to minimize line downtime; identify, document, and resolve mechanical/process defects.
• Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, maintenance checklists, and process documentation with attention to detail.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to support scale‑up from lab prototypes to pilot and production lines.
• Assist with equipment installation, startup, and scale‑up activities as required.

Qualifications

We accept multiple experience and education combinations. Candidates should meet at least one of the options below:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, experimental physics, or related field AND 2+ years relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field AND 5+ years experience in R&D or low‑volume manufacturing.
• Associate’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or experimental physics AND 4+ years relevant experience.
• Associate’s degree (unrelated) AND 6+ years experience in R&D or low‑volume manufacturing.
• 1–2+ years experience with significant responsibilities at a high‑volume cell manufacturing facility (e.g., battery cell lines) is also considered.

Skills & Tools

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on problem solving for real‑time equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic proficiency with data entry and analysis tools (Excel, JMP, or manufacturing execution systems).
• Experience with materials characterization techniques is a plus.
• Prior involvement in equipment installation, startup, or scale‑up activities preferred.
• High attention to detail in documentation and SOP preparation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, quality, and operations teams.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated base pay: $93,220 per year (estimated).
• Role is eligible for tier‑based bonus, equity, healthcare (medical/dental/vision), paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401(k), corporate discounts, and employee relocation plan (if applicable).
• New hires generally start within the stated base pay range with opportunities to increase pay over time based on skill development and company progression.
