Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician to support product testing and laboratory activities. This hands-on role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career candidates with an engineering/technical background who enjoy building, testing, troubleshooting equipment, and collecting data to support engineering decisions.
What You’ll Do
- Build and assemble test setups, fixtures, and custom test stands
- Perform product and component testing and run test procedures
- Collect, organize, and verify test data; document and summarize results
- Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory and test equipment
- Assist engineers with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems
- Support development and modification of custom testing equipment and fixtures
- Work with cross-functional engineering and technical teams on test activities
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical/scientific field
- Hands-on mechanical or technical aptitude; laboratory experience via coursework, internships, school projects, or personal projects preferred
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to collect and communicate test data
- Basic understanding of analytical chemistry, solution preparation, or water chemistry (as applicable to lab testing)
- Willingness to work onsite at the Saint Paul, MN location
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with product or laboratory testing, sensors, or instrumentation
- Experience building test stands, fixtures, mechanical or electrical assembly
- Familiarity with PLCs, test automation, or data acquisition systems
- Experience with robotics, mechatronics, or fluid systems
- Background in statistical data analysis and experience with tools like Python, Minitab, or LabVIEW
- Any hands-on internships, co-ops, or lab projects related to product testing
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated salary (from source): $66,521 per year (estimated)
