Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Engineering Technician to support field and laboratory testing for construction projects. This role is suitable for entry-level and experienced technicians who want hands-on experience with materials testing (soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, reinforcing steel, sprayed-on fireproofing) and who are comfortable working on active construction sites.


What You’ll Do

  • Perform field observations and materials testing (soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, reinforcing steel, sprayed-on fireproofing).
  • Record and report findings to project teams verbally and in writing.
  • Coordinate with senior staff and project engineers to support site inspection and testing tasks.
  • Maintain safe work practices and use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
  • Complete company-paid certifications required for testing and inspection tasks; pay increases may follow certification completion.
  • Travel to job sites using a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Engineering, Geology or related field is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move 60–80 pounds and work outdoors on construction sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record as part of pre-employment screening.
  • Strong oral and written communication and basic math skills.
  • Relevant certifications (ACI, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, etc.) are a plus and may increase starting pay.

Compensation & benefits

  • Estimated pay: $59,309 per year (estimated).
  • $500 sign-on bonus total: $250 after 90 days and $250 after one year of service (per source).
  • Overtime opportunities available.

Location & travel
