Position Overview

The Confidential Client is seeking an Engineering Teacher (Career and Technical Education — CTE) to teach high school students hands-on and project-based engineering skills for the 2026–2027 school year. The role focuses on developing curriculum aligned with state regulations, delivering instruction that prepares students for employment and postsecondary study, maintaining a safe and well-equipped lab, and coordinating with CTE leadership and business partners to support program effectiveness and work-based learning experiences.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas teaching certification in one of the following:
  • Technical Education
  • Trade and Industrial with appropriate work experience
  • Math, Physics Engineering Certification or Secondary Science

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship
• Engineering or industry work experience
• Autodesk (AutoDesk) certification

Core Skills & Competencies

• General knowledge of curriculum development and instructional best practices
• Ability to instruct high school students and manage classroom behavior effectively
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to conduct and document safety training and maintain lab safety standards

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and assess engineering CTE curriculum consistent with district and state requirements
• Coordinate with the Director of Career & Technical Education and CTE Program Specialists to ensure program alignment, effectiveness, and equity
• Plan and administer individualized study programs to meet student needs and competency requirements
• Maintain accurate records for student competencies and CTE reporting; incorporate records into grade reporting and parent communications
• Conduct and document safety training; maintain lab and equipment in accordance with safety policies and procurement/purchasing guidelines
• Sponsor or support Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) activities and engage business partners for the CTE Advisory Board
• Provide work-based learning opportunities and facilitate industry partnerships to support student career readiness
• Participate in approved professional development and remain current in engineering education trends and technologies
• Perform other duties consistent with the classroom teacher position description as assigned

Working Conditions

This role requires typical physical demands for classroom and lab settings including standing, prolonged sitting, moderate lifting/moving of equipment, and travel within the district and statewide when required. Mental demands include problem solving, interpreting policy and data, and effective written and verbal communication. Employees must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
