Confidential Client is hiring for its 2027 Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) — Product Development Track. This 12–18 month, entry-level rotational program places early-career engineers on multiple project teams to gain hands-on product development experience across disciplines such as product design, simulation & performance analysis, test & validation, controls, electronics, embedded software, and engineering data analytics. Most program roles are in Peoria, IL, with opportunities nationwide.
What you’ll do
This program gives you structured rotations, mentorship, and impactful engineering work. Typical responsibilities include:
- Work on product design: component and system design from concept to production
- Run simulation and performance analyses (CFD, FEA, 3D modelling) to optimize systems
- Execute hands-on test and validation in lab/field environments; troubleshoot and root-cause issues
- Develop or validate control algorithms using Matlab/Simulink and related tools
- Design and test electronic control modules and PCB layouts; perform analog/digital/power analysis
- Write and maintain embedded software (C, C++, C#) and automation scripts (Python, Visual Basic)
- Validate features on HIL/SIL benches and report/debug anomalies
- Apply data analytics and basic machine learning concepts to engineering data and experiments
- Support process engineering efforts to improve manufacturing and test processes
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams; communicate technical results clearly
Minimum qualifications
Candidates must meet these program requirements:
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or pending completion before start) in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Agricultural, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related technical discipline
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (no rounding)
- 12 months or less of professional work experience (internships/co-ops excluded)
- Willingness to relocate and travel as assignment needs require
- Authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is NOT available for this role
Preferred experience (top candidates may also have)
- Campus design/competition team participation or technical project leadership
- Technical internship or co-op experience in product development, testing, controls, or embedded software
- Proficiency or coursework in one or more: Matlab/Simulink, Python, C/C++, ANSYS (CFD/FEA), PCB design tools
- Experience with HIL/SIL validation, embedded systems, or data analytics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated teamwork across diverse groups
- Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn by doing
Program logistics & compensation
- Start dates for 2027: February 1, 2027; June 7, 2027; July 12, 2027; August 2, 2027 — limited seats per start
- Monday–Friday, in-person assignments (onsite five days per week)
- Applicants will be considered for positions across the United States; most roles are based in Peoria, IL
- Relocation assistance available for those who qualify; visa sponsorship is not available
- Drug screen required as condition of employment
- Summary pay range: $81,370.00 – $133,810.00 (actual offer within range depends on location, experience, and other factors)
