Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead technical teams and strategic projects at their Andover, MA engineering and manufacturing sites. This role blends deep technical ownership with people leadership and project execution across automation, controls, mechanical design, robotics, process development and precision instrumentation.

What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Manager you will own technical direction and delivery for high-impact engineering initiatives. Typical responsibilities include:
- Lead design, development, and implementation of automation, intelligent controls, and Industry 4.0 solutions (PLCs, robotics, AI/ML for production).
- Drive mechanical process and equipment development — CAD, prototyping, CAE and field validation.
- Translate R&D innovations into scalable manufacturing processes; optimize lines and support supplier qualification.
- Lead packaging, converting & high-speed packing technology development and troubleshooting.
- Architect and maintain instrumentation & metrology systems for quality and performance control.
- Build and coach engineering teams; set technical priorities and ensure HS&E and quality compliance.
- Partner with operators, reliability, manufacturing and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Support capability building, digital adoption and long-term technical roadmaps.
Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, Materials, Packaging, Environmental, Civil, or related).
- 0–5 years relevant experience (internships, co-ops, research and academic experience count).
- Strong analytical problem solving and technical curiosity; ability to identify root causes and drive data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated project mindset — ability to manage scope, timelines and budgets.
- Leadership potential with strong interpersonal and communication skills across levels.
- Comfortable with mobility and relocation over the course of a career; ability to travel ~10–25%.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with industrial PLCs (Rockwell), process/machine control, sensors, motors and industrial networks.
- Robotics, machine vision or programming experience (Python, LabVIEW, Java, C#).
- Mechanical systems engineering experience (3D CAD, CAE, machine/mechatronic design).
- Experience in R&D, advanced manufacturing, or technical centers.
- Specific expertise in packaging processes, converting, or precision metrology.

Compensation
- Starting pay / salary range (posted): $85,000 - $122,200 per year.
- Estimated market median (source): ~$116,436 / year — actual pay depends on non-discriminatory factors including location, experience, and qualifications.
