What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Engineering Designer to support civil infrastructure projects. This role is based in Helena, MT and offers hands-on experience across planning, design, and construction phases in transportation, water and wastewater, site civil, airports, structures, and related civil disciplines.
- Assist with development of engineering designs, construction plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Perform engineering calculations, evaluate alternatives, analyze data, and prepare technical recommendations.
- Support preparation of planning documents, engineering reports, technical memoranda, design documentation, and project correspondence.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, and regulatory agencies as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in data collection, site visits, construction observation, inspections, and other field activities as required.
- Assist with construction documentation, contract administration, record drawings, and project closeout tasks.
- Pursue professional development through mentoring, training, and involvement in technical and community organizations.
Qualifications
We welcome recent graduates and early-career professionals. Desired qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related engineering field.
- Engineering Intern (EI) certification, or ability to obtain EI certification within six months of employment.
- 0–4 years of relevant experience (engineering, design, construction, internships, or related).
- Fundamental understanding of engineering principles and standard design and construction practices.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and ability to work both independently and on project teams.
- Willingness to travel and perform field work when project needs require.
- Positive attitude and commitment to contributing to an employee-owned culture and core organizational values.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $65,000 – $80,000 per year (entry-level range; final offer depends on experience and location).
