What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Controller you will support project financials and project controls for infrastructure and transportation work. Typical responsibilities include:

  • High level involvement in the project cost control system and day-to-day cost monitoring
  • Analyze construction costs and prepare cost reports and labor reports as required
  • Perform financial projections, forecasts, gains/losses and variance analysis
  • Support payroll, procurement, taxes (federal/state sales/use, payroll, property) and related compliance
  • Administer contracts and maintain documentation for subcontracts, material contracts and owner progress estimates
  • Assist with project office setup and project onboarding activities
  • Provide training, development and coaching to direct and indirect reports to support retention and engagement
  • Coordinate with district teams and joint-venture partners to maintain team cohesion and smooth financial operations
  • Use Excel and project-controls tools (Primavera familiarity preferred) to support reporting and analysis

Who You Are (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • GPA above 3.0 preferred
  • 0–2 years’ experience in cost controls, construction accounting, or project controls (entry‑level considered)
  • Basic understanding of financial terms and calculations (gain, loss, forecast)
  • Basic understanding of standard cost-control methods for project types (EPC, JV, lump sum, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Excel; experience with Primavera or other project controls software is preferred
  • Highly motivated, strong work ethic, and commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
  • Passion for safety and ability to help ensure nobody gets hurt

  • Work during normal operating hours; overtime and weekend work as required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base compensation: $85,000 - $92,000 (range provided by our client; actual pay depends on experience, education and location)

Location & Schedule

This position is based in Sedalia, CO. This role is full-time and may require on-site attendance consistent with project needs and occasional travel between project offices.
