The Engineer, Vision Systems at Confidential Client is responsible for establishing and maintaining advanced inspection systems to prevent quality issues and maximize production yield in lithium-ion battery manufacturing. What You’ll Do
Prevent quality issues and maximize manufacturing output by establishing and improving automated inspection systems and maintaining inspection equipment. You will lead preventive and predictive maintenance for inspection machines, optimize inspection accuracy and detection power, and drive improvements in inspection algorithms and processes.
- Lead inspection equipment preventive maintenance (PM) planning, execution verification, spare-parts management and calibration (MSA).
- Monitor and optimize inspection machine accuracy and detection power; derive and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze equipment failures (MTTR, MTBF), create failure analysis reports and drive corrective actions with internal teams and equipment vendors.
- Plan and manage inspection system investments, system development schedules, specification reviews and mass-production transfer activities.
- Develop and improve inspection algorithms and optimize inspection recipes to reduce false positives/negatives and NG leakage.
- Define and maintain inspection machine standards (design, installation, operation) and PFD / BM/PM/PD manuals.
- Build training and skill-improvement programs for technicians; manage technician skill matrices and run training sessions.
- Support expansion and commissioning of new inspection equipment and oversee SAT and production stabilization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, equipment, quality and external engineering teams; communicate technical matters with global partners as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- Experience or exposure to Machine Vision Engineering in a manufacturing or automotive environment (internship, co-op, entry-level role, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Familiar with inspection equipment PM, calibration, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and preventive/predictive maintenance concepts.
- Experience analyzing equipment reliability metrics (MTTR, MTBF) and driving corrective actions.
- Practical understanding of inspection algorithm development and optimization for improved detection power.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and cross-team collaboration.
- Comfortable preparing reports using MS Office tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams and teach/mentor technicians.
- Willingness to learn complex manufacturing processes and act as a technical resource.
- Professionalism, accountability, and respect in interactions; ability to communicate with international engineering partners.
