Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Engineer I, Software to design, develop, and maintain internal and third‑party applications that improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. This role partners with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software, automation, and SharePoint/Power Automate solutions that solve business problems.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software features and integrations.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable code and follow version-control and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute constructive feedback.
- Document technical processes and support end users as needed.
- Support and maintain low-code/no-code automation using Power Automate (cloud & desktop).
- Build and maintain SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, lists, and site apps to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and implement AI-assisted processes that reduce manual effort.
- Other duties as assigned.
AI, SharePoint & Power Automate responsibilities
- Work with business users to identify repetitive tasks and implement AI-assisted automations that improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Integrate AI outputs into workflows and Power Automate solutions, ensuring proper validation and error handling.
- Pilot, test, and tune AI features; document outcomes and recommended configurations.
- Design, build, test, and maintain Power Automate cloud flows and desktop flows; validate edge cases and error handling before deployment.
- Configure and maintain SharePoint Online team and communication sites; provide training and documentation for site owners and users.
- Monitor solution usage, gather user feedback, and recommend improvements.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field, or relevant coursework.
- Entry-level software development experience (internships, co-ops, class projects, or professional).
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages.
- Understanding of basic data structures, debugging, and unit testing.
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Preferred qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.
- Experience with SharePoint Online, Power Automate, or other Microsoft 365 tools.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and integrating AI-assisted tools into workflows.
- Experience with web clients, automated builds/deployments, reporting tools, or performing code reviews.
- Time management and task estimation skills.
- Experience in the natural gas or utilities sector is a plus but not required.
Compensation & employment type
- Estimated base: $69,290 per year (estimated).
- Employment type: Contract / Full‑time.
- Location: Owensboro, KY (onsite or as specified by the client).
