What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring for two open engineering positions: Station Engineer or Protection & Controls Engineer. These are intermediate-level engineering roles performing a variety of assignments that require application of engineering theory and analytical techniques to solve problems, support projects, and improve processes across the organization.
Technical responsibilities include:
- Apply engineering theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse technical problems and complete project analyses.
- Understand interrelationships between systems and equipment at generation/transmission/distribution stations.
- Analyze business processes and recommend technical or process improvements.
- Prepare, review, and present technical reports, studies, and improvement requisitions.
- Use scheduling and planning techniques (CPM, PERT, flow charts) to support project forecasting, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate routine project activities and, when needed, work with discipline leads or other departments to achieve objectives.
- Provide training and guidance to less-experienced engineers or technicians.
- Make decisions within established policies and escalate when appropriate; understand risks and implications.
Who We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications and preferred attributes:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required for entry-level hiring. Candidates who have graduated from non-ABET programs may be considered if approved by VP or above.
- Licensing: Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is encouraged and preferred as preparation for future PE licensing.
- Experience: This posting covers multiple levels (Associate, Engineer, Senior Engineer). New graduates meeting the degree requirement are eligible for the Associate level; higher grades require commensurate experience and demonstrated technical competence.
- Skills and competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports and communicate technical information effectively.
- Familiarity with project planning/scheduling methods (CPM, PERT).
- Teamwork, stakeholder engagement, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Business awareness, including budgeting, economic analysis, and regulatory considerations relevant to utility operations.

Salary ranges for this posting (depending on grade and experience):
- Engineer / Engineer Technologist Associate: $74,551 – $93,188 per year
- Engineer / Engineer Technologist: $87,633 – $109,542 per year
- Engineer / Engineer Technologist Sr: $98,993 – $128,688 per year
Compensation Grade: SP20-007
Physical Demands
This role is designated S – Sedentary Work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible force frequently. Mostly sitting with occasional walking or standing.
