What You’ll Do
You will provide process optimization and engineering support for the mill, including compliance/process coordination, lean projects, quality and product-safety initiatives, and analytical systems support. Work includes hands-on project design, installation, and start-up activities and supporting data-driven decisions across operations. This role is intended for early-career engineers and will include training and development assignments.
Responsibilities
- Entry-level engineering responsibilities consistent with project assignments
- Apply engineering principles to design and implement assigned projects
- Support design, installation, commissioning, and start-up of mill projects
- Supervise and coordinate mill trades personnel and outside contractors during project execution
- Conduct data analysis and use results to inform operational and capital decisions
- Take on progressively complex assignments as part of training and development
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- 0–3 years’ experience in project engineering or production (paper industry experience is acceptable)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project
Preferred Qualifications
- Pulp and paper industry experience preferred

- Ability to work well under pressure and meet time constraints
- Strong multitasking and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills
- Sound independent decision-making and creative problem-solving ability
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and adapting to change
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary range: $86,400 - $129,600 (annual)
- Paid vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year (pro-rated in year of hire)
- Paid holidays

- Automatic enrollment in 401(k) with employer matching (plan offers pre-tax and Roth options)
