What You’ll Do

This role supports confidential client’s engineering team within a model-based manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Review Visual Work Instructions (VWIs) and other build-authority documents for accuracy and conformity with technical authority requirements.
• Validate engineering change documents for applicability and ensure proper incorporation into build authority materials.
• Apply mechanical and carrier-construction knowledge to validate welds, notes, and dimensions for Ford-class carrier construction.
• Collaborate with VWI developers, construction trade representatives, planners, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure producibility.
• Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to entry-level engineers.
• Participate regularly in collaboration meetings and use collaboration tools (WebEx, Jabber).
• Use Teamcenter, NGP, NX, SAP, and 1Tool daily to complete assigned tasks and track document changes.
• Contribute to development and improvement of engineering processes and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum required:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 2 years of relevant professional experience; OR Master’s degree in engineering and 0 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to read and apply technical authority and build-authority documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position (per client requirements).
• No security clearance required to start.

Nice to Have

• Experience with carrier engineering technical authority and build-authority documentation.
• Prior engineering experience on carrier programs (Ford-class) or large naval platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Teamcenter, NGP, NX, SAP, and model-based manufacturing tools.
• Familiarity validating welds, dimensions, and engineering notes in production drawings.
• Eagerness to learn, adaptability, and a team-oriented mindset.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated base salary range: $89,000 to $110,000 per year. Final compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
• Relocation assistance will be available.
