Role overview
This Industrial Engineering role supports manufacturing operations for a confidential client by applying Lean and Industrial Engineering principles to improve product and information flow, reduce inventory and complexity, increase capacity, and lower cost. You will partner with cross-functional teams to identify productivity opportunities, lead improvement projects, and implement process optimization tools while supporting manufacturing performance through data analysis and execution.
Key responsibilities
- Apply Lean and Industrial Engineering principles to improve product and information flow, reduce inventory, increase capacity, reduce complexity, and lower cost
- Implement Lean fundamentals including 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work, and continuous flow
- Lead or support cross-functional project teams to improve process flow, reduce cost, and increase capacity
- Identify productivity improvement opportunities across manufacturing processes and sites
- Develop and execute project plans, define deliverables, timelines, resources, milestones, and risks
- Maintain awareness of current industrial engineering tools and evaluate their applicability
- Develop and apply systems, tools, and technologies through successful project execution
- Communicate recommendations and project status clearly through written documentation, visuals, and presentations
- Coordinate project team activities and provide facilitation and leadership as needed
- Serve as a technical resource and coach for peers and internal customers
- Work across a variety of manufacturing processes and functions to deliver results
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or another engineering/technical discipline
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience (internship and co-op experience applicable)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Theory of Constraints concepts
- Familiarity with cycle time reduction, cost analysis/modeling, value stream mapping, line balancing, and work cell design
- Proficiency with Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Knowledge of discrete event simulation tools (SIMUL8, FlexSim, or similar)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, flexible, and a quick learner with a strong interest in industrial engineering
- Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and related tools
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Experience with Python programming
- Experience with data preparation and advanced visualization
- Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or commercial analytics
Compensation & benefits
- Salary range: $68,958 - $94,817 per year (full-time equivalent). Starting pay will depend on factors including geographic location, experience, training, and education.

- The role is based in Painted Post, NY (on-site / manufacturing environment). Travel between sites or occasional extended hours may be required depending on project needs.
