What You’ll Do
Confidential Client’s Structures team seeks an entry-level Engineer-in-Training focused on structural engineering. You will support senior staff in design, evaluation, investigation, and repair work for buildings and other structures. Typical responsibilities include:
- Perform structural analysis and design tasks for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems.
- Assist with investigations and site visits to document existing conditions and determine root causes of problems.
- Help develop repair and rehabilitation designs and prepare drawings and specifications.
- Support construction administration tasks and coordinate with contractors and project teams.
- Use engineering judgment and technical calculations to contribute to safe, efficient solutions.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and prepare client-ready reports.
Qualifications
Minimum and preferred qualifications that will help you succeed in this role:
- MS in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
- FE/EIT certification (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP, RISA, RAM, SAFE) preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and analytic/problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage deliverables.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
- Demonstrated professional demeanor, enthusiasm for learning, and coachability.

Compensation & Additional Details
This position is full-time and based in Schiller Park, IL. The following pay ranges are provided in good faith under applicable pay transparency laws and reflect the posted ranges based on degree level:
- Bachelor’s Degree: $79,560 - $81,640 per year
- Master’s Degree: $83,200 - $85,280 per year
This role is also eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Actual pay will be based on experience, qualifications, and location. Base salary is part of a broader Total Compensation package that may include discretionary bonuses and other benefits.
