Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Engineer in Training (EIT) to join their Structural Engineering team in South Waltham, MA. This role is ideal for recent MS graduates in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering who are passionate about structural analysis, design, and learning on real-world projects. The position offers mentorship, exposure to design and investigation work across materials (steel, concrete, masonry, wood), and a competitive total compensation package including a sign-on bonus.
What You’ll Do
As an entry-level structural engineer you will support project teams across design, investigation, and rehabilitation work. Typical responsibilities include:
- Perform structural analysis and design tasks for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
- Assist senior staff with field investigations to document existing conditions and identify root causes
- Help prepare drawings, specifications, and calculation packages
- Support construction administration and on-site problem solving
- Contribute to evaluations and designs for repair or rehabilitation of existing buildings
- Learn firm standards, workflows, and engineering best practices under mentorship
Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
Candidates should bring strong technical training, curiosity, and effective communication. Required or strongly preferred qualifications:
- MS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering (required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- FE / EIT certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and solid analytical judgment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on teams
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with structural analysis software is a plus (for example ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, RAM, SAFE)
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
- Eagerness to learn, solve problems, and take initiative

Compensation & Sign‑On Bonus
This posting includes a good‑faith salary estimate pursuant to applicable pay-transparency laws. Final pay will depend on experience, degree level, and job level.
- Associate Project Consultant (Master’s degree): $83,200 - $85,280 per year (role relevant to this posting)
- Other internal career-level ranges at the firm may vary up to the Project Consultant ranges listed by the employer
- This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign‑on bonus
- Total Compensation includes base salary, potential discretionary bonus, and paid benefits
